Switch of Pop (#TT147)

Taylor’s new single “Shake It Off” really REALLY surprised me (not in a bad way though). I was like, “Tay..lor?”, I guess it’s time to say goodbye to fairytale country music.

But actually a shift in music genre can be expected, since her previous album “Red” is more towards pop than country. I think pop suits her, plus we get to see her “fun” side a little more through pop music and of course, her cute awkwardness =) I’m excited to hear the rest of the songs off her new album “1989”.

On the other hand, the ever sweet Hilary Duff released another single titled “All About You” which has a little country touch. Some refuse to call it pop country, but use a term “pop folk” instead. Well, to me personally there are no defined lines amongst music genres today, everything mashes up together and most of them sound great. I remember the first “mashed up” genre that I listened to was by Forever The Sickest Kids, and apparently it was called powerpop rock/punk. I LOVED IT.

I really really like this song and I can’t wait to see the official music video. It’s definitely more catchy compared to “Chasing The Sun” I shall expect different varieties of music from Hilary’s new album!

On a random note, I feel like chopping my hair off again to shoulder length, just like Hilary’s =) need to gather courage to do it though because it really takes time for my hair to grow.

Hilary Duff is back! (#TT146)

If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you’d know that I’m a huge fan of Hilary Duff. Her music comeback is definitely one of the things that I’m super excited about, although I kinda like her more as an actress. Nonetheless, I like her songs, especially those from her first album, “Metamorphosis”. It’s her best album in my opinion. I’m so gonna buy her new album!

She’s still as pretty as ever!!! Her body is more muscular though lol. This song is refreshing and so summery =)

Party Month (#TT132)

Hello lovelies! 

It's December!! Can you believe it? Christmas is coming real soon and it's time to party! Some of you may have or have not known that I'm not so much of an electro music fan. It's catchy and gets me in the mood but it's not something that I can listen to for the whole day (may get sick of it :x). 

But! I've been into indie pop lately and I guess this would be the kind of music that I can dance to all night long! It kind of reminds me of one episode in Lizzie Mcguire where the whole school becomes a fan of Frank Sinatra and the school dance just gets really awesome with the 70's/80's style (ref: picture above).

Here are the two bands that I've been listening to lately, plus Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

E X C I T E D (#TT71)

Guess whaaaatttt?

I’m gonna see Simple Plan performing live this Sunday! SO STOKED!

Their latest album “Get Your Heart On!” is awesomeeee, although I find that they’re experimenting with pop a lot,  like their third and self-titled album “Simple Plan”. Well, there’s nothing wrong with pop, in fact I find it really interesting in this GYHO! album since every single song has a different characteristic and I enjoy that a lot :) Just like this week’s TT “Summer Paradise”, don’t you think that it’s got that Jason Mraz feel into it? This band really surprised me coz they apparently sound GOOD no matter what the music genre is! Pierre’s voice is just so cool!

Other things that excite me are:

   Finally I got myself ‘Devoted’! Still on chapter 3 right now.. I don’t have so much free time as final project just keeps me so occupied :/

I passed the ABRSM exam, baby!! What bugs me though, is the fact that I only needed 2 more points to get a distinction. Although getting a merit is also satisfactory :)

It’s only Tuesday but I’m already wishing that weekend could come any faster.

I heard some wedding bells!

I found that August is really a popular month to wed this year.
Most of you may have heard that the beautiful Hilary Duff got officially married to her one-and-only love Mike Comrie. I can't express myself how happy I am for my top role model! ;')

She got an early wedding present from Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV: Female Scene Stealer for her appearance in Gossip Girl!

She looked absolutely stunning at her perfect wedding day!

Right a week before Hilary's wedding, my cousin also exchanged vows with her hubby! I was the only bridesmaid since it was just a small wedding and the next day I had to fly back to Singapore! Yes, it was a tiring weekend, but I enjoyed every moment of it!

I loved my cousin's red dress! She wore this only for the party and wore a white dress at the church. The mermaid style was similar to Hilary's dress! It's really popular nowadays though I know it won't look good on me haha.

It was taken about a year ago in KLCC, when Elizabeth Arden was having a launch on Hilary Duff's first perfume, With Love. aaaahhhhh =))

Another perfume of Hilary's : Wrapped With Love! Just bought it like a week ago? at the same place but i missed the launch =(

These grenade-shaped bottles shine like diamonds, lol.
With love (left) smells elegant and lady-like,
whereas Wrapped with love (right) smells so sweet, girlie and cheerful. Somehow I just think of summer breeze when I smell this, u know like when you lie down on the grassy greens under the cherry blossom tree, looking at the white clouds and blue sky while the petals of the cherry blossom are falling down over you and you can hear the sounds of the crickets.

Ok the description is too long and getting irrelevant, lol.
